Web Component Framework Implementation Readiness Checklist
Web Component Framework Implementation Readiness Checklist
Blockers
- Dedicated Web Components repository must exist.
- Repository owner must confirm package scope and publishing authority.
- Browser support matrix must be written down before form-associated controls or SSR claims become contractual.
Required work before broad library expansion
- Set up monorepo tooling, package boundaries, and changeset workflow.
- Establish token source pipeline using DTCG-compatible inputs.
- Generate and validate Custom Elements Manifest in CI.
- Create plain HTML, React, Vue, and SSR fixtures.
- Run the deferred architecture probes listed in
EX-WC-0001. - Define API linting and public API diff checks.
- Write component specification template and accessibility-contract template.
- Prove one Light DOM composite and one Shadow DOM widget can coexist under the same docs and test system.
Optional improvements
- Generate wrappers from manifest metadata where feasible.
- Add bundle budget reporting per package.
- Add visual-diff baselines per theme and forced-colors mode.
- Add codemod scaffolding for future deprecations.
Deferred research debt
- Exact SSR stack selection.
- Exact React wrapper generation strategy.
- Exact Vue adapter scope.
- Long-term versioning policy after first stable release.
- Assistive-technology matrix beyond browser support.
Implementation start assessment
- Status: Ready to begin repository implementation.
- Reason: No unresolved foundational decision remains.
- Caveat: Pilot-first execution is mandatory; full-catalog expansion is not approved by this research.
